Canned Heat

Canned Heat somehow managed to capture the heart of blues and also encapsulated within their music the hippy ideology that abounded in the late 1960’s on Americas’ West Coast.

Great songs like ‘Lets Work Together’ and ‘On The Road Again’ fine examples of this with a rock/blues boogie sound which was to be the bands musical signature which was to set them apart from the acid rock and psychedelic outfits of this period. Canned Heat appeared at The Monterey Pop Festival and Woodstock. Three members of the band are deceased namely Bob ‘The Bear’ Hite, Al ‘Blind Owl’ Wilson and Henry ‘Sunflower’ Vestine. Their music lives on! ‘Boogie With Canned Heat ’.
