Lynyrd Skynyrd

Lynyrd Skynyrd are one of the most successful Southern Rock outfits. They are from Jacksonville Florida which was a hotbed for Southern Boogie bands in the 1970’s. Having survived the tragic air crash in 1977, Skynyrd were to reform with Johnny Van Zant replacing his brother, the much missed front man and lead vocalist Ronnie Van Zant, who perished in the air crash along with guitarist Steve Gaines.

It is also a great testament to this bands musical heritage and its durability that they are still as popular today as they were in the 1970’s.

Classic Albums are Pronounced Leh-nerd Skin-nerd and Street Survivors.

‘Freebird’ and ‘Sweet Home Alabama’ are not just songs but anthems that capture the spirit of Lynyrd Skynyrd and the Southern Rock movement.
