Pink Floyd

Pink Floyd one of biggest rock bands of all time were formed in London in the mid 1960’s by Syd Barrett who was responsible for most of their early Psychedelic material. Floyd were to eventually replace the erratic Barrett with David Gilmore on lead guitar and became more of a Progressive outfit in the 1970’s. It was the release of their Classic Album Dark Side of The Moon in 1973 that was to give the band their big break into the higher echelons of rock.

This was followed by Wish You Were Here in 1975 with their next big album The Wall in 1979. The early Barrett period produced two classic single releases ‘See Emily Play’ and ‘Arnold Lane’ which are both indicative of 1960’s British Psychedelia.

Syd Barrett died in 2006 and Keyboard Player Rick Wright in 2008, we miss them both but the music of Pink Floyd lives on.
