Stevie Ray Vaughan

Stevie Ray Vaughan was one of the most talented of the Blues Rock guitarists of all time, whose departure in 1990 was mourned by so many who loved his music. Stevie’s great playing expertise and style was built upon his ability to fuse superb rhythm playing with flurries of solos, in a similar vein to Jimi Hendrix. His great musical hero was the late bluesman Albert King who had inspired Stevie as a youngster to pick up the guitar.

Jimmie Vaughan, Stevie’s eldest brother was another guitarist who was to be an influence in his development as a great musician.

SRV with his band Double Trouble, who were renowned for their fabulous live shows produced some remarkable songs and recordings which included the songs ‘Texas Flood’, ‘Pride & Joy’, ‘Tightrope’ and the poignantly appropriate ‘Life Without You’.
