The Jimi Hendrix Experience

The Jimi Hendrix Experience were a Psychedelic Power Rock Trio fronted by the most important figure in rock, guitar virtuoso Jim Hendrix, revered as the most influential rock guitarist of all time. The Jimi Hendrix Experience were formed in London in 1966 when Chas Chandler invited Hendrix to England to acquaint an unsuspecting British audience with the daunting guitar skills of this previously unknown American guitarist. The other musicians to join Hendrix were Noel Redding on Bass and Mitch Mitchell on Drums who were soon in action recording their first album ‘Are You Experienced’, which was a big seller in the U.K. and the U.S. in 1967.

This success was to be repeated with ‘Axis Bold As Love’ in the same year and ‘Electric Ladyland’ in 1968. Although all of these musicians are now deceased, the great legacy of Jimi Hendrix will always be his profound influence upon so many other guitarists who found him to be such an inspirational musical icon.
