The Outlaws

The Outlaws also known as “The Florida Guitar Army” are one of the greatest Southern Rock Bands whose origins go back to the late 1960’s. Upon the recommendation of Lynyrd Skynyrd’s Ronnie Van Zant the Outlaws were signed to the Arista Label releasing their first album in 1975.

These early albums had more of a Southern Californian sound similar to the Eagles and Poco. They later developed a more raw sound as heard on The Outlaws classic ‘live’ album Bring It Back Alive in 1978 which showcased their famous three guitar sound. Hughie Thomasson lead guitarist and one of the founding members of the band died in 2007 but The Outlaws continue to play on and continue to make great Southern Rock. ‘Green Grass & High Tides’ is the bands most famous song.
